Smokey's official statement about treadmill life...filed with dramatic seriousness and tiny paws.

Hey beautiful people… it is me, Smokey.

We need to talk.

Today, I was placed on something called… a treadmill.

For the record, I did not agree to this.

I was simply minding my business.

Being adorable.

Supervising the household.

Doing important dog things.

And suddenly…

Dad says, “Come on, Smokey.”

Mom smiles like this is a good idea.

And the next thing I know…the floor starts moving.

Excuse me?

Why is the ground walking?

Why am I walking… but not going anywhere?

This feels like a trick.

Mom says it is good excercise.

Dad says I need to stay active.

They say it helps my heart.

They say it keeps me strong.

But I would like to remind everyone that I am already perfect.

Still… I walked.

Because I love them.

Because I trust them.

Because even when the floor moves unexpectedly,

I know they would never hurt me.

And if I am being honest…after a few minutes…I kind of liked it.

Do not tell Dad I said that.

If I am being completely truthful, this Shih Tzu treadmill workout turned out to be more than I expected. What started as a dramatic complaint became a moment of growth. Even small dogs like me can benefit from safe indoor exercise when it helps keep our hearts strong and our little legs moving.

I walked like a champion.

A tiny fluffy athlete.

A Shih Tzu on a mission.

And after I finished…I received praise.

And cuddles.

And maybe… a treat.

So maybe I did not agree to the treadmill.

But I do agree to staying healthy.

I agree to growing strong.

I agree to being the best little version of myself.

Even if it means the floor moves sometimes.

And as always…

I love youuuuu…boop byeeee.
